Grace Baptist Church

Our building is a Victorian chapel in Queen Street, Hitchin–but inside it is modern and friendly.

The Christian Faith we believe in is more than 2000 years old but is just as relevant today. We invite you to come and join in our simple worship and discover how Jesus Christ can change your life forever.

We are an Independent Baptist Church and our beliefs are strongly rooted in the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith. We are also affiliated to the F.I.E.C. (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches).

We believe that what it says in the Bible is absolutely true: God is the great creator, powerful and good, but also pure and just. We are separated from him because of our sin (our failure and weaknesses). Yet, because God loved the world he sent his son Jesus Christ to take the punishment for our sin instead of us, by dying on the cross. Jesus Christ rose from the dead and through faith in him we can be forgiven and know God as our father, assured of his love and care throughout our lives and forever in Heaven.
